About The Last Tribble - And Then There Were None.

Yes, The Last Tribble has joined the others and headed south. That's all five tribbles re-homed in the Mayenne. Is this significant? Does the Mayenne have a dearth of kittens or a wealth of animal lovers? Is the Orne, the departement in which we live, full?

Enquiring minds will investigate. Surely, this is exactly the subject that government grants were created for:)

Meanwhile, on his final day, The Last Tribble shows off his kitten supermodel routine. First, with a degree of difficulty of 3.3 and off the scale in the cute charts, is the adorable glance upward:

Now the showing off. I'm a kitten supermodel and this is my tongue:

Kai takes the Last Tribble in hand and demonstrates the dangers of young tribbles poking out their tongues. Ever heard of the expression 'cat got your tongue?'

Luckily Kai, ever the gentlekitten, has retracted his claws. But next time, young tribble...

I'm so sad!

Is this extraordinarily silly? I'm going to miss the tribbles so much! Haven't you extracted promises on behalf of the new owners that we can have some pictures? Do they realise there's a tribble fan club out there? A once-a-month tribble day would give Xena and Kai a bit of a rest in trying to be so cute as they get older.

Don't worry, there is a tribble stash of unseen photos I kept back. A man and a new camera is a dangerous thing:) So, there will be more tribble appearances on Kitten Picture Wednesday.

And Target only lives a few miles away...

Wow, I never realized he was so fluffy! Love the way his tail stands up and then droops over in the first two pictures, almost a loose pug roll.

How are you holding up now that you are Tribble-less?

We're gradually acclimatising. I often look down expecting to see an orange ball of fluff. But it does make walking around the house easier - one less impediment to dart between your feet:)

I know what you mean, I constantly have to look down (especially when I am in the kitchen) or I feel like an oaf, stepping on orange kitten paws and tails. Funny how 2 kittens can feel like 10 sometimes.

Chaos was funny this morning, he had gotten onto the counter that stands between my miniscule kitchen and living room. I had my back turned as I got ready for work. He leaped out, Bonzai!, onto my back. "Mom! Don't go!" Good thing I trimmed his claws recently.

I really enjoyed seeing the Tribbles. My first cat in 1965 was a red tabby and I've loved them ever since. I currently have one who is 10 years old.

I know how hard it can be to say goodbye to a furbaby. It's so wonderful that you were able to find them all homes!
